The dirtier my teeth were, the happier he became 🦷

💡Insight

No one likes going to the dentist. Especially me.

But what would be worse than going to the dentist for a cleaning…

Cleaning the teeth.

Your job is to hover over someone while they open wide, then scrape and polish whatever gunk you find in there.

Who would actually enjoy that?

Well… my old hygienist didn’t just like it. He LOVED it.

This guy would be waiting for me at the front desk like a superfan outside the arena, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite artist after the show.

Giddy is the best word for it.

He’d walk me down the hallway, fit me with those ultra-flattering sunglasses, and ask about my life since the last cleaning.

Then… It was showtime.

I’d open up: “Ahhhhh.”

He’d beam: “YEEEESSSSSS!”

The more plaque, the better.

He’d whistle while he worked, and when he was done, he’d hold up the little mirror to reveal his Mona Lisa.

That’s when I realized:

Just because I would hate doing that work doesn’t mean someone else wouldn’t love it.

In fact, the very thing that drains you could light someone else up.

And the same thing applies in your real estate business.

There are things you’re holding onto because you “don’t want to burden someone else.”

But what if, by keeping it, you’re actually robbing them of working in their Sweet Spot and keeping yourself from working in yours?

🛠️ Resource

Whenever a coaching client (or I!) starts feeling bogged down, I pull out The Doer Cheat Sheet.

📝 Delegation Doer Cheat Sheet.pdf

Here’s how to use it:

  1. Look at each category on the cheat sheet.
  2. Circle one potential task you could liberate yourself from.
  3. Write down your top contender from each category.
  4. Rank them from easiest to hardest to let go.

Pro tip: It doesn’t have to come from this list.

It could be something you’ve been dreading, procrastinating on, or even something in your personal life. That counts too.

✅ Action

Take the first thing on your list and run it through these questions:

  • If I stopped doing this, would anyone notice, or would there be extreme negative consequences?
    • If no → Eliminate it.
    • If yes → Go to the next question.
  • Can this be done for me, at least partially, using technology?
    • If yes → Automate it. (And remember, you can hire someone to set it up!)
    • If no → Go to the next question.
  • Could someone else do this and actually enjoy it?
    • If yes → Delegate it.

Notice there’s no “if no” on the last question… because somewhere out there, someone loves that work. You just need to find them. (I can help with that.)

Still not convinced? Watch a season of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.

So give me the goods: What’s one task you can let go of this fall, something that drains you, but could light someone else up?

Hit reply and let me know.

In Your Corner,

Coach B

P.S. Mandy and I are heading to Castlegar this weekend to pick up our new puppy and bring her home. I will be taking next week off for a week of PETternity. When Marley grows up a little and needs her teeth cleaned, we will have to visit my old hygienist, who left my dental office to start his own business, where he combined his passion for clean teeth with his love for pets: Kirby Canines.

🚨 New on YouTube Most-Asked Agent Questions (& Answers) with RRI Coach Braden Wheatcroft One of the advantages of my role is perspective. I don’t just work in one market or with one group of agents. I’m in the trenches with over 300 RE/MAX agents on Vancouver Island, I coach agents across Canada through Richard Robbins International, and I stay connected with top agents all over North America. Why does that matter? Pattern recognition. When Jaimie Robbins asked me on The Richard Robbins Show...

The news didn’t come through a headline—it came up casually at a social event days later, mid-conversation. I was devastated. These weren’t just famous people to me. They were part of my past. Growing up, my Nanna had a waterfront home at Pipers Lagoon, right next to Wheatcroft Park...

Issue #004 💡 Insight You work hard. What would you say if I told you that you could double or triple your results by doing less. I know. Sounds kinda like sleazy internet marketer talk… But it’s true. Not only have I experienced it, but I have helped many others do the same. The key to unlocking that level of results while decreasing your effort lies not in how much time you put in each day, but what you do with it. This is where 2x versus 10x activities come into play. 2x activities are the...
